Language and Literature Fair
Georgia's Secondary School Language and Literature Fair returns with its flawless integration of language, literature, speech, and competition! Language is the most vital tool for human communication and thought, and literature is the spiritual home of humans! The sixth through twelfth graders have had an amazing academic journey, been well-prepared, and actively engaged in a range of thoughtfully planned activities.
One student from each grade level gave a presentation of between 3-4 minutes based on how literature gives them hope about an issue that humanity is currently facing. A student expressed her strong conviction that it is better to confront challenges head-on rather than run away from them, while another student came to the realization that "social media and the Internet have caused people's loneliness and even communication barriers, and they need to use them moderately" from the literature. They learn to think like global citizens and express their opinions fully and effectively.
Following the presentations, we participated in a number of educational and entertaining language activities, such as Video Mashup and Spelling Bee Championship. The competitors demonstrated their strong vocabulary and superb flexibility. The videos presented an original and engaging analysis of the knowledge points. The entire event concluded with a lively round of applause.
