2024 Walkathon
Georgia School Ningbo organizes fundraising events annually to support families and children in need. This Wednesday marked the start of the ninth Walkathon on campus, showcasing the love and goodwill of the GSN community through the joy of sports.
At 8:45 a.m., the entire school gathered on Georgia Avenue, where Mr. Cavon Ahangarzadeh, Head of Georgia School Ningbo, delivered the opening speech. In his remarks, he shared, “This event is both exciting and fun, but more importantly, it raises money for charities across China through the China Charity Federation. One of our core principles at Georgia School Ningbo is fostering a spirit of service to the community, and this is the foundational reason behind our efforts today."
Following that, Coach Lima, the physical education teacher, encouraged the group to warm up with simple stretches, preparing all the participants for an hour of exercise. Not long after, skateboards and scooters were zooming around the school campus in between runners of all ages! GSN designated a specific track to be followed and volunteer teachers stood at every corner. As upbeat music echoed through GSN, students and teachers gave their best lap after lap, increasing the amount of rubber bands on their wrists and devoting themselves to a greater cause.
